Whats the difference between bengal tigers and siberian tigers?
other than the area that they are found in.
There are 8 recognize subspecies of tigers; however, 3 are now extinct. The remaining five are: the Bengal Tiger, Siberian tiger, Sumatran Tiger, Indo-Chinese tiger, and the South Chinese tiger. There are many variations in coat color, size, weight, and markings in accordance with each subspecies.
The Bengal tiger is the most common of the tigers. They reside in India where they are still highly endangered. The Bengal tiger is the only subspecies of tiger than can produce white tiger cubs. Commonly mistaken as the Siberian tiger, all white tigers, captive and wild, are actually Bengal tigers.
The Siberian tiger is the largest of all tigers and therefore the largest living cat. They are found in Siberia and Manchuria. The Siberian tiger has the fluffiest and most dense coat of the tigers.

The Man-Eating Tigers of Sundarbans $3.98 Along the Bay of Bengal, between the countries of India and Bangladesh, stretches a strange and beautiful landscape–part ocean, part river, part forest. This is the Sundarbans Tiger Reserve, and it is home to more tigers than anywhere else on the earth. Nowhere else do tigers live in a mangrove swamp. Nowhere else do healthy tigers routinely hunt people. Yet about three hundred people a year are killed by the tigers of the Sundarbans. And no one knows why. |

Mother to Tigers $15.48 You are a Bengal tiger cub, one of three — Dacca, Rajpur, Raniganj — abandoned by your mother. You are so cold and thin that someone with kind hands puts you on a heating pad and sits by you for hours, moistening your mouth with milk. When you give a weak cry and look up, there is a human face almost crying too. Your new mother is Helen Delaney Martini, who has already raised a lion cub in her New York apartment. Tigers in the bathtub will be no problem for her and her husband, Fred. This remarkable book — strikingly striped as tigers are, sympathetically spoken as any child could wish — tells the story of Helen Martini, founder of the Bronx Zoo’s animal nursery in 1944 and its first woman zookeeper. |
