what would cause my tiger barbs to all of a sudden start fighting?
i have 4 tiger barbs in a community tank with some red minor tetras, cherry barbs a platy and a few others. recently two of my tigers have been just going at it and it almost looks like they are going for each others eyes just swimming in circles and attacking. its a new decelopment and i’ve never seen it before. any suggestions?
Tiger Barbs are relatively aggressive fish. They are very active and tend to nip at other fish in the tank. For this reason, they don’t do well in community tanks. I had two Tiger Barbs that went on a rampage and ended up killing every fish in our tank other than the two huge Glass Fish, against which they didn’t stand a chance.
The nipping behavior may be due to the fact that their are not enough of their kind in the tank. Tiger Barbs do best in schools of 6 or more.
